Hi, I’m Marissa.

I’m my happiest on a quiet Sunday morning with coffee in one hand and something to read in the other. I prefer early bedtimes and a morning walk or tennis session over a late-night Netflix binge and sleeping in. I find old doggos more lovable than puppies. Oh, and I love words. So much so that I went and made them my job.

I’ve been a copywriter for over 10 years.

My career began the way a lot of good writing careers do: with volume. At a home design e-commerce company, I wrote hundreds (maybe thousands) of product descriptions, from the oversized clock above your sofa to the eight-piece dining set you’ve been eyeing for years. I also wrote short-form copy for their weekly shop newsletter. It was unglamorous, foundational work, and I loved it.

A few years, a promotion, and a cross-country move later, I was ready for more. That led me to a global marketing agency, where I wrote a little of everything—campaign copy, video and radio scripts, landing pages, in-store signage, print, and more—for one of their Fortune 500 clients. I was learning fast and building a voice. And all of it was preparing me for what came next.

At Snap, I helped craft the narratives that positioned Snapchat as a leading ad platform for global businesses. I wrote across B2B campaigns, tentpole events, and some of their biggest brand moments. And thanks to one of the most genuinely talented teams I’ve ever worked alongside, I grew more in those years than I could have anticipated.

When Snap’s 2022 layoffs closed that chapter, a new one started at Gladly, a customer service software startup where I helped shape brand strategy, led a voice and messaging refresh, and helped bring their AI product to market.

And then came Pinterest. As a senior copywriter and content strategist, I’ve been building the kind of content that helps advertising partners understand and believe in the platform: strategic narratives, decks, talk tracks, and thought leadership for moments like Pinterest Predicts and Cannes. I’ve had the chance to collaborate with brilliant people across business marketing, brand research, product marketing, and beyond, and work in a role that consistently reinforces exactly why I love this work.
