At Houzz, I wrote biweekly Shop Houzz newsletters and product copy for private label goods and top-tier marketplace accounts, sharpening my ability to write with economy, personality, and commercial intent in tight formats. The newsletter work was a particular creative exercise in constraint: in 80 characters or fewer, I had to generate genuine interest around curated product collections, which meant leaning on precise word choice, subtle wordplay, and a strong instinct for what makes someone click. Beyond my own output, I took on a mentorship role, training incoming copywriters, leading monthly creative brainstorming sessions, and conducting regular copy reviews for the team.
